Working from your home: library databases

Don’t forget you can use the OpenAthens system to get into the Library databases  (including e-books) so you can keep studying and learning.

 Start at and click on OpenAthens logo


ALL usernames are inm followed by your student number.

Example: if your student number is 12345678, your username will be inm12345678

ALL passwords are  XXM@nchester and the year you were born.

Example: if you were born in 2001, your password is 20M@nchester01

Example: if you were born in 1998, your password is 19M@nchester98

Capital M and @ sign in M@nchester

If you never requested a  user name and  password, please email in and we will tell you what information we need from you.



Seen the movie……. now read the book!

You may have seen the film, but did you know it was based on  a book?!

Borrow a book from our display in the Learning Centre…….. Books that have been films too.

Read the original text and relive the pleasure of the film – from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Harry Potter to Pride and Prejudice and Murder on the Orient Express. We have the lot!

World Book Day: help others

Thursday May 5th is World Book Day– and we are having a book sale in the Learning Centre in aid of  Into Giving 

All money raised will be going to the Intogiving initiative to help in the coronavirus outbreak. The money will be sent to Give2Asia, who are partnering with leading Chinese public health organisations to support frontline health workers and hospitals responding to the coronavirus crisis.  9am March 5th Learning Centre

We CHALLENGE you to write a book review

We CHALLENGE you to read something you would not normally read- so not your textbooks!

And guess what? Not only will the BEST REVIEW get a prize, each person who writes three complete book reviews will get a Certificate.
