Weather warning for next week (heatwave)

Hi All!

Just a quick general news update for you today. As some of you may have heard or read on the news, next week we are expecting a heat wave here in the UK. Monday and Tuesday temperatures are expected to reach up to 37 degrees Celsius here in Manchester, and both amber and red warnings has been issued for extreme heat across much of England (read more: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jul/15/met-office-issues-extreme-heat-warning-for-england-next-week).

These temperatures aren’t usual in the UK, and our buildings aren’t all built to deal with it. If you know that you are sensitive to heat – especially the humid heat we experience in the UK – please take additional care when attending the centre next week! Drink plenty of water, where cool clothing and keep out of the heat where possible. Some rooms, like the LC, do have fans which we will switch on during the hotter weather.

If you are feeling unwell at any point due to the heat, let a friend or member of staff know – we’ll make sure you are looked after!

Thanks
