Just a quick post today, about the Queen’s Jubilee being celebrated next week. A few things to note:
The Learning Centre will be open as usual Monday – Wednesday, then along with the rest of the centre will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Spring Bank Holiday and the extra Jubilee Bank Holiday. If you have any questions over the long weekend, you can email these but they won’t be responded to until Monday morning – so plan ahead!
In Centre Celebrations:
In Centre on Wednesday, Welfare will be hosting a celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This will be in the Breakout Space on the 1st Floor from noon onwards! Make sure to pop along! This will be a great chance to take a break from your revision and studies, and to indulge in some British culture.
What is the Jubilee?
A quick recap for those of you who have read this far but are still wondering – what is the Jubilee?
The Platinum Jubilee is a celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. The Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of the Queen’s reign! Her Majesty is the first British monarch to reach this milestone, having ascended the throne at age 25!
These celebrations will take place largely from June 2nd to June 5th. Throughout Manchester, and the rest of the UK, you will find celebrations being held to mark the occasion. Many people will be hosting Street Parties with their neighbours, whilst businesses will also be hosting celebrations and events – make sure to check out what’s going on around Manchester.
