April Review Magazines

Hi All,

As we head into April, we wanted to take a moment to highlight one of our best resources for our Foundation students in the Learning Centre – the Review Magazines! These magazines are full of articles on all of the subjects studied here at INTO Manchester, and are aimed at A-Level and Foundation students. We have Review magazines for: Biological Sciences, Business, Chemistry, Economics, Law, Physics, and Politics.

In Centre, the latest magazines have just arrived for Apirl 2022. These new editions cannot yet be taken home, but can be read in the Library, whilst the backlog of old editions are available for loan if you’re interested – just ask and we’ll show you where to find them!

For those of you not in Centre, do not despair! The entire catalogue of these review magazines – including the most recent – are available to all of you online as well. These can be accessed easily through EBSCO by following the link to “The Reviews”.

Having trouble figuring out how to use and search the online Reviews? We also have a handy guide on how to make the most of them here.

Our Articles of the Month:

  • Investigating an Ancient Wine Trade in Chemistry Review. Fascinating findings using chemistry on the Sicilian wine trade from over 1000 years ago!
  • Human Rights: The Path to Strasbourg in Law Review. A case study concerning the Gender Recognition Act (2004) and the rights to trans* parents to be recognised on birth certificates according to their legally recognised gender.
  • The Changing Role of NATO in Politics Review. A timely case study on the role of NATO. Whilst it does not discuss the current situation with Russia and Ukraine may be a helpful read for those interested in the role that NATO plays.
  • Solving Mechanics Problems in Physics Review. Helpful exam advice article breaking down an exam question about a beam engine – a device used to pump water or oil from the ground.

Hope that this is helpful and we look forward to seeing you in Centre soon!
