Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day, a day to promote reading and literacy for everyone. This year is the 25th Anniversary of both World Book Day, and of the publication of one of the world’s most beloved book series – Harry Potter!
At the Learning Centre, we want to use this occasion to promote reading for fun to all of our students. Whilst it is important that all of you read for your courses, there is also a lot of joy to be found in reading for pleasure. At the Learning Centre we have a great selection of books outside of your course that you can explore – both fiction and non-fiction – on all manner of topics and across a variety of genres.
Not only is reading a great way to pass your time, it will also help you to improve your English and can introduce you to new knowledge and ways of thinking you may not have encountered before!
This month our Book Spotlight highlights some of the books in our fiction section, as well as the non-fiction we have for casual reading so please check that out, and come down to see us in the Learning Centre if you can. Remember that we’re always happy to make book recommendations if you aren’t sure where to start.
