International Women’s Day

Hi All!

Ahead of International Women’s Day next Tuesday (8th March, 2022) we wanted to share some information on what IWD is and how we are celebrating in the Learning Centre! You’ll find a display of books for IWD for the next two weeks if you come visit us in centre – a book spotlight will also be going up soon – as well as information on our #breakthebias photography competition.

The #breakthebias competition is easy to enter – just email a photo of you (alone or with friends) doing the break the bias pose (arms crossed in front of your chest) to us at with the subject #breakthebias (examples are found below).

Our favourite entry (or entries) will be shared to the INTO Manchester Instagram page and our website on International Women’s Day*, and will also win a feminist book (Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez; We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or The Guilty Feminist by Deborah Frances-White)**.

We look forward to seeing your entries!

*By entering you are consenting for your photo to be shared for these purposes.

**This is unfortunately only open for students based in the UK – although any favourites from non-UK based students may still be shared!
